See the Helix MAR and PRN in your own workflow
Tell us about your service and we'll set up a demo organisation with sample clients, then walk you and your team through recording a round on the MAR chart and logging a PRN dose end to end.
Walkthrough: the MAR chart
1. Open the client's MAR chart
Pick a client from the dashboard and open MAR. The chart opens on today's date automatically — no scrolling to find the current column.
2. Read the left panel
Each row shows the medication name, strength, form and the prescribed directions, exactly like the paper chart. Blister-pack medicines carry a pack badge.
3. Sign a dose
Tap the cell for the time slot. Enter your initials, or pick a reason code (refused, withheld, hospital, self-administered). Today's signed doses show in white.
4. Correct a mistake
Void the entry and re-sign it with the correct initials. The window stays open for 12 hours of the shift, then the record locks for audit.
5. Show the auditor
Auditor Mode gives read-only access to the same chart with the full signature trail and timestamps for CQC inspection.
Walkthrough: the PRN sheet
1. Open the PRN sheet
PRN medicines are detected on set-up (or when a paper chart is scanned) and routed to the PRN tab instead of the fixed-time grid.
2. Record the administration
Log the time given, dose, the reason it was needed and who administered it — with the maximum dose in 24 hours shown alongside.
3. Record the outcome
Return after the review window and record whether it worked. That effectiveness note is what inspectors look for on PRN records.
4. Stock stays in step
Every PRN dose reduces the running count, so the count sheet, MAR and PRN reconcile without a second book.
